8.7 TCP/IP Utilities
8.7.4 Netstat/tpcon
It is often useful to view network statistics. The netstat command is used in Windows and UNIX/Linux to display TCP/IP connection and protocol information. Novell uses the tpcon NLM to accomplish this.

The netstat command provides a list of connections that are currently active. Netstat statistics can be useful in troubleshooting TCP/IP connectivity problems. The figure shows the information available in summary (-s switch) mode. These error reports are especially helpful in diagnosing hardware and routing problems.
