The installation steps in the previous
section are the default or typical installation procedures. There are
some other setup options in Windows 2000. Another type of install, Portable
installation, will install the options that might be needed with a
portable computer such as a laptop. Another setup option is a Compact
installation. This option should be used when installing Windows 2000
on a computer with a limited amount of hard drive space. The last
setup option is the Custom installation. This should be chosen
if customized selections for the device configurations are needed.
Select this type of installation if non Plug-and-Play adapter cards or
hardware devices are being used.
