Problems encountered during upgrades to
Windows 9x will be related to hardware, software, or both. Before an
upgrade is started, consult the Microsoft website to see if the
hardware is compatible. Check with the manufacturers of the hardware
components and the software publishers to determine if updated drivers
are needed for the upgrade.
Prior to doing an upgrade, check that the hardware meets the
minimum system recommendations for the upgrade. Microsoft has a
list of recommendations available on their website that identify
the type of processor and amount of RAM required to run the
selected operating system.
